Biography
My name is Rachael Bassey, and I am the founder of a 501c3 non-profit organization named Divine Glory Foundation International Inc, that is dedicated to helping abused women, less privileged children and orphans. Growing up in Africa, I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact that abuse and poverty can have on individuals and families. As I got older and migrated to America, I felt a growing sense of responsibility to make an impact to humanity.
I obtained my education in healthcare with Bachelors in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing. I began volunteering at local charity organizations with food drive, assisting with basic health assessments like checking vital signs, blood sugar test, Blood pressure, and providing education on lifestyle changes. The experience was both rewarding and fulfilling. I saw the challenges that these individuals face every day, and that compelled me to go above and beyond to reach more people. Eventually, I decided to start my own non-profit organization. Since the expenses were coming out of my own pocket, I was only able to reach smaller group in West Africa, Nigeria, due to my limited budget.
Starting a non-profit organization from scratch is a daunting task and one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. I have seen the incredible impact that our organization has had on the lives of those we serve. Our mission is to help provide basic healthcare assistance, help women escape abusive relationships and build new lives, hope, and counselling. Provide support and resources to less privileged and orphaned children. As we continue to build our network of supporters, so will our outreach increase and become active in dozens of countries across the globe.
I’ve discovered that there’s no greater satisfaction than knowing that you’re making a positive difference in the lives of others, especially when it’s part of your divine purpose to do so. I am excited to see what the future holds for our organization and for the individuals and families we serve.
